Movement Over Retreat

I just heard a quote that said,

“Life has a way of isolating people who are meant for bigger things.”

I reread it a few times before moving on—because it stuck with me. Because I’m choosing to believe it’s true.

Not in a romanticized way.

Isolation isn’t a badge of honor.

It’s been heavy.

Disorienting.

The combination of grief, reality exploding, public leadership during crisis, and the quiet but profound shifts in my family and social world have left me more alone than I’ve been in years.

And I know I don’t thrive there.

So in this lonely, liminal season,

I’m choosing movement over retreat.

I’m taking action in ways that expand me beyond who I’ve been and what I’ve done before. I’m making new friends. Meeting new people. Feeling small sparks of connection and possibility return.

And I believe—deeply—that I was created to contribute on a scale larger than my own life.

What that looks like isn’t fully clear yet.

But every step I’m taking is pointed in that direction.
