Happy Birthday, Dad

My dad’s birthday is tomorrow, Christmas Eve.

How special to get to celebrate Christmas and my dad at the same time.

For years, I cooked a big prime rib dinner for him on Christmas Eve.

We all enjoyed sharing time together and eating his favorite meal.

I loved making my dad feel special.

I was talking with my sister today about our dad.

This is our first time celebrating his birthday without him.

We both have a lot of feelings about it.

And still—we’re excited to cook a big prime rib dinner for him.

My mom and her husband are baking a pineapple upside-down cake—his favorite.

All three of my kids are home and my sister is here.

How special that we get to share the day all together.

How special to celebrate Christmas and my dad at the same time.

We will share lots of laughter together and probably a few tears.

We love you, Dad.
