Well, I Changed My Mind

About a month and a half ago, I archived this blog.

I accomplished exactly what I needed to.

I stepped away, exited a triangle I had unintentionally become part of, and gave myself the space to reconnect with myself.

Almost immediately, I poured that energy into building an entirely new website centered around the idea of rebuilding my life from the bedrock of myself.

It’s beautiful. Inspiring.

Everything I hoped it would be.

And then I launched it.

And took it down.

And launched it again.

And took it down again.

Something wasn’t quite right, even if I couldn’t yet explain why.

So I left it down and walked away for a while.

And then I left home.

I spent my days surrounded by nature, picking cherries straight from the tree, making friends with baby farm animals, watching orcas play, exploring new places, and simply living.

That space was a gift.

Somewhere between all of those ordinary and extraordinary moments, something shifted.

The creativity returned.

But more importantly, clarity returned.

I realized I wasn’t trying to replace Of Ash & Honey. I was trying to leave behind a version of it that no longer existed.

And I realized something else.

I’m not rebuilding from the bedrock of myself.

The bedrock was never gone.

I’m shedding the layers of grief, survival, heartbreak, responsibility, fear, and chaos that accumulated over me. I’m uncovering what has been there all along.

Looking at this blog with fresh eyes, I realized it wasn’t just a record of one painful season of my life.

It had become the story of my creation.

It held the fire.

The ash.

The honey.

And now…

It has room for the gold.

So, I’m back.

Back to this beautiful creation of mine.

Not because I couldn’t move on, but because I realized this story wasn’t over yet.

Maybe I’ll post regularly again.

Maybe I’ll disappear for another month.

Maybe this evolves into something completely different.

Either way is okay.

This is simply where I am right now.

Uncovering my vibrancy.

Picking back up what matters.

Savoring my own sovereignty.

Who knew being one of those creative, artistic types would involve so much changing my mind?

And now that I lost all of my readers, I’m back baby!
