February 8, 2026
I started the day thinking it would be pretty chill.
Coffee in the morning.
Time to knock out a few tasks.
Get ready for the day at a reasonable pace.
Instead, I found myself on the phone having important conversations about state statutes, legal deadlines, an impactful court case, and the proper procedures for one more thing. After the call, I dug into the research, verified my facts, and sent a collaborative email aimed at resolution, at least for now.
With that done, it was back to tasks. I handled the big stuff, then went in search of a new mini crochet project to work on while I wait for my giant stock of yarn to arrive on Wednesday. Things were on track. I kept an eye on the clock, ready for kickoff, confident we had everything we needed to settle in for the game.
And then—kickoff.
Almost immediately, the emails and texts started rolling in. So I listened to the game in between problem solving, messages and stitches. Things eventually settled down long enough for me to take in Bad Bunny’s performance.
I liked it.
I don’t really know his music,
but I know he’s one of the biggest artists in the world.
It was fun.
I loved how he honored the culture and values of Puerto Rico.
That genuinely made me happy. And I just read, that was an actual wedding ceremony!
So sweet!
I was a little confused by Lady Gaga’s appearance,
but smiled when Ricky Martin came on.
Livin’ la Vida Loca, baby.
There was also a part of me that wondered how uncomfortable some people out there might have been with a Spanish-language performance during the Super Bowl.
I’m sure it didn’t land the same for everyone.
Then it was back to all the important things.
It is amazing how much can get done through texts and emails.
I am very thankful to work with incredible people.
I did catch most of the fourth quarter, though—when things finally got a bit more interesting.
Touchdowns.
Collisions in the end zone.
Where were the fights on the sidelines?
Oh right.
I forgot what teams I was watching.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday to you.
Did your team win?
