Right Work, Wrong Side

I’ve been cruising along on my latest crochet mandala blanket, making real progress and feeling confident in my knowledge and skill. I’m completing rows at a solid pace and making fewer and fewer mistakes. Feeling good.

I was powering through row 36-ish yesterday. It was a little more complicated. I had to be more careful about stitch placement and make sure I had the right number of stitches in the row before so my corners would line up. I actually had to pull out early sections a couple of times and redo them because I’d made mistakes. Once I got past those parts, I moved on to clusters of popcorn stitches. Feeling good about how things were looking.

And then I noticed something not quite right.

Why am I seeing the ends of yarn from previous rows?

Why does it look like I’m working on the wrong side of the blanket?

So I stopped and checked.

Yep. I was working on the wrong side of the blanket.

All those lovely popcorn stitches I had just done were facing the wrong way.

So after all that careful work to make sure everything was perfect, I had to pull the whole thing out and start over.

Oops.

At least it’s an easy fix, even if it adds more time to the project and feels a bit frustrating.

Back at it. This time with it flipped to the correct side.

She took a break in the sun yesterday.
