Potato Chips or Broccoli | A Little Distraction

In January, I had a doctor’s appointment that involved a lot of conversation about my overall wellbeing.
It was a productive conversation.
Thoughtful. Thorough.
And it concluded, as many such conversations do,
with a recommendation to eat more vegetables and cut back on potato chips in bed.
Apparently, the other side of training like a fighter is eating like one.
Blah, blah, blah.
Yeah, I know.
So I’ve been making an effort.
More vegetables.
Enough protein.
Fewer late-night potato chips in bed.
Not no potato chips in bed,
let’s be reasonable,
but fewer.
I am happy to report that I’ve made real progress in eating broccoli and consuming protein. This feels like growth. Measurable, verifiable growth.
The potato chips are still in the picture,
but no longer in a starring role.
Which, frankly, feels sustainable.
At least for today.
