Not Just Another Sunday

Today is Sunday.
Weekends in my life are pretty amazing.
Peaceful. Quiet. Mine.
If I’m being honest, this winter, sometimes they’ve been a little boring.
But yesterday was wonderful.
And today has been… unexpectedly exciting.
I normally work out on Tuesday and Friday mornings. But this last Friday, I accidentally triple-booked myself and could only do one of those things. So, I moved my Friday workout to today.
And it was amazing.
I love my trainer. I know I say it over and over again, but I do.
And holy smokes—I am so impressed by how my body has bounced back from the long season of being underfed and under-moved.
I am strong.
Moving with fluidity, endurance, and ease—even when things are really fricking hard and I start questioning my decision-making.
Our bodies are incredible.
They are built to respond to what we ask of them.
And Michael keeps helping me ask mine to do more.
A while later, I’m home, bebopping around, filling my time with non-essential things, when I check my email and see I had an Amazon delivery yesterday.
So I head to the mailbox, pull everything out, and start sorting once I’m inside.
Let me tell you what arrived—because it is exciting.
In the Amazon package was Jack’s tie for prom.
He is going to look so handsome.
And something I have been impatiently waiting for—
fabric and thread to back the mandala blanket I finished crocheting over two weeks ago so I can turn it into a wall hanging.
And then, a bonus mailbox surprise—
A yarn and pattern catalog from Mary Maxim.
I didn’t even know they still made paper catalogs you get in the mail.
But it made me wildly happy.
So today is not just any Sunday.
It’s a day where I feel like a badass woman—strong, flexible, powerful—
who also gets genuinely excited about fabric, thread, and crochet.
And just to be clear…
I am still not a grandma.
In case anyone was wondering.
