Dear friends,

Thank you for following me on my journey this last year. What a wildly painful, enlightening, and empowering journey it has been.

I did what I hoped would happen. I came home to myself over and over and over again until I was safe inside of myself again.

And something I never expected happened —

I became whole.

I moved so much pain, so many experiences, and so much trauma through myself and out onto the page. And the process of doing that healed me in ways journaling alone never has.

I shared nearly every aspect of my deepest self here.

I bared my soul for all to see.

I allowed myself to be consumed,

compared against,

assessed for truth or safety.

I allowed myself to continue being used as supply by people who hurt me because part of me needed to know that what I experienced mattered.

That I was not easily erased.

That happy on the outside, diamonds, or time together is not the same thing as truth. It is not the same as safety or healthy love.

I know those things now.

And I know it is time to close the door on Of Ash and Honey.

This isn’t the end of me, my writing, my truth-telling, or my story.

It is simply the end of my relationship with this particular space

and the cutting of a tether I no longer want attached to me.

My words will find a new home.

A new lovely corner of the internet.

I’m not entirely sure where they will land yet,

but I trust it will be exactly where they are supposed to be.

So, my dears, this is goodbye.

Thank you for being part of my journey.

I will take this website down in the next week or so.

Maybe you’ll find where I end up next.

Maybe.

With love,

Katherine
