Life is so funny.
Last night, I was doing some deep inner work—processing an experience that was genuinely traumatizing and shaped my life for years.
I cried and cried and cried for the version of me who was so young and should never have experienced those things.
And today, despite being a little puffy-eyed and tired, I felt excited for the new adventure I’m headed out on.
I was up early, trying to decide what to bring for a road trip through the desert and into the mountains—places I’ve never been.
I dug deep into my closet and pulled out a couple of bikinis I haven’t worn since last year, wondering what counts as appropriate attire for high-end hot springs resorts.
Should I bring my yoga gear?
I’m not committed to any classes, but I packed it just in case.
I got everything together, had some coffee, said goodbye to Jack, and hopped on a plane.
An overnight in Seattle turned into a test drive of a car I’ve been eyeing for a month, time with my sister and sweet Emily, and a delicious dinner with friends I haven’t seen in forever.
Tomorrow, we head to Albuquerque.
I’m not exactly sure what all our plans are after that—other than adventure, new experiences, hot springs, and quality time with people I love, with a few important meetings tossed into the mix.
Happy trails are ahead.
