Flickers of Excitement

What a time of life this has been.

Wow.

Relational pain I never knew was possible.

Horrific experiences I didn’t know could happen.

And the excavation and expansion of me I never asked for.

And yet, here I am on the other side of absolute devastation.

Thankful for this new, expanded, refined version of myself.

Excited for all the things I now get to experience because I finally let go of a person and situation that hurt me so badly.

Looking forward to all the firsts I get to have again.

First crushes.

First kisses.

First times.

New best friends.

New adventures.

And all the incredible things love and connection still have to offer.

All of the time and energy I poured into myself this last year to process, heal, grieve, and integrate has paid off in ways beyond anything I could have imagined.

I gave myself time and space to work through everything without immediately jumping into someone else.

It was needed.

Necessary.

Crucial to breaking old patterns.

And I can feel the difference in me.

My internal lights are beginning to flicker again.

Softly. Steadily.

I'm ready.

I'm excited.

I'm strong.

I'm worthy.

And it feels good to open my heart to love and connection again with the wisdom, strength, discernment, and self-trust I carry now.
