An Event

I love dressing up.

Doing my hair and makeup.

Choosing just the right shoes and accessories.

Looking pretty.

It's fun to go out and be around all the people.

Familiar faces, new people to meet.

Lighthearted conversations and some serious.

The food is rarely my favorite, and that's ok.

I went to an event around this time last year, it was fun and also challenging.

School district chaos, the recall.

I remember one of the organizers of the recall had to give me my name tag, that was awkward.

Wounds to my heart so deep I could barely breathe.

I went to the same event tonight and had the best time.

Vibrant.

Engaging.

Present.

Confident.

Funny.

And most importantly—Free.

It is incredible what can happen in one year.
