A Great Day

I had a great day today.

The first one I’ve had in a long time.

And it was wonderful.

It was a day full of community,

connection, laughter, service,

and meeting new people.

It started with an early morning meeting about helping with early prevention in Ketchikan.

Then came a much-needed lunch with girlfriends I’m still getting to know.

And it ended outside, spending a few hours with a stopwatch and a bunch of high schoolers, timing track races.

Somewhere in the middle of it all, I got to connect with a young woman who seemed to need a friend. That was especially meaningful.

I even got to sneak in a little time watching Jack throw shot put.

More than anything, it was a day where the weight of everything lifted.

A day where I felt like myself again—

the version of me that has been buried beneath so much.

Today was a great day.

And I am thankful.

I know more days like this are coming.

I hope you had a great day too.
